Student Residence Overview

Unlike traditional residences, the Primrose Residence Program offers shared and single accommodation to full time students with the added conveniences of home.  Life in residence can be one of the most memorable aspects of a post-secondary education. Lifelong friendships, wonderful experiences and the day to day convenience of living minutes from campus are just some of the benefits of residence life at the Primrose.  With a diverse student body made up of students from different schools and different years, residents not only have the chance to meet and expand friendships, but to gain insight from those in higher years.  The Primrose Student Program is designed to provide students with an environment which balances educational and social programs to provide the ideal all around residence experience.

Between the readings and assignments, and the occasional laundry run, there is always something going on in residence.  Throughout your stay, you will find yourself building friendships with fellow students that will not only enrich your stay at the Primrose, but will also help you establish social and professional networks that can last a lifetime.

Every year the Primrose Dons teams up with the student body to form the social events committee.

The purpose of this team is to plan and organize different social functions and to create a strong sense of community between floormates.  Our goal is to ensure that students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities which can enhance their residence experience.

The Primrose Student Residence program has Senior Students (Dons) in place to assist and monitor with day to day student operations. The Don acts as a direct liaison between the student body and The Primrose Management team.

The Don is assigned "on call" periods during which they must be available to ensure the safety and security of the students, ensure that maintenance or facilities-related issues are addressed and that the Student Code of Conduct is being observed.

A Don is also expected to be available to offer support for students encountering issues such as roommate disputes, emotional distress or academic support.

Dons are also required to plan and facilitate social events for residents in order to enhance the living community. These events can range from weekly movie nights to winter ski trips. All residents are encouraged to participate in all social aspects of residence life.

As part of your student accommodation package, the Primrose Student Residence program provides a well balanced meal plan with breakfast from 7:00am-10:00am and dinner from 5:30pm-8:30pm available Monday through Friday.

The Breakfast Menu includes a variety of cereals, danish, muffins, croissants, breads, juices, fresh fruit and a daily special which may include one or more of the following items; pancakes, French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, and bagels with cream cheese to name a few.

Our Dinner Menu items include a soup of the day with rolls, a full Salad & Pasta Bar, Main & Vegetarian Entrees and a dessert station.  Main entrées may include roast chicken, lasagna, burgers, fajitas, ginger pork, fish and chips, Sheppard’s pie, nachos, chili, beef stew or penne pasta with chicken. Vegetarian entrees may include, vegetarian lasagna, veggie stir fry, vegetable stew, perogies with sour cream and penne alfredo. All meals are served with potatoes or rice, fresh vegetables and a dessert of the day. Beverages are included with all meals.

Residents will be issued a student meal card that must be shown upon entry to the dining room.  The resident may only enter the dining room once during each meal period.  Meals can be eaten in the dining room or if you wish, you may take out your dinner.

A late night meal program is available for pick up after the dining room closes for dinner.  Late night meal forms must be filled out at least 24 hours prior to pick up. Students must contact the on-call Don to arrange the late night meal pick up.

In addition, the Primrose Management teams up with students to form the Food committee.  The purpose of this committee is to plan and organize monthly cultural theme nights and to provide Management with comments and suggestions about the Meal program to make the meal plan an even better one.

Our goal is to make your residence experience the best it can be by providing good, nutritious food in a relaxed atmosphere.
